About Us

Jim Compton started working with leather in 2016 when he rebound his late mother's bible and brought it back to life.  Jim fine-tuned his leather working skills rebinding bibles, making wallets, journal covers and other leather projects.  Jim was asked to make a leather bible carrying case for a dear friend named Cat Woods.  She could not find a quality bible carrying case and told Jim of her desires.  After many prototypes the "Cat Woods" collection was born.  Cat Woods fell in love with the case and started to spread the word of this top quality "premium" leather bible carrying case.  The demand for these cases has kept Jim pretty busy and his focus now is to build these cases and put the bible rebinding on hold.   Each bible carrying case is handmade by Jim and all of his products are made from premium leathers.

Jim has been asked many times about his company name, Agape Bibles.  He explained that the word Agape (Ancient Greek ἀγάπη, agapē) is a Greco-Christian term referring to unconditional love, "the highest form of love, charity" and "the love of God for man and of man for God".  Jim felt that Agape was very fitting for his love of God’s word contained in the bible.
